Obi refutes claims of British Government apologizing to him for detention

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, has dismissed rumors claiming that the British Government had apologized to him for his detention by immigration officials at Heathrow Airport in London.

Obi was questioned by UK immigration officials on allegations of impersonation aimed at damaging his reputation.

On Thursday, rumors surfaced that the British Government had apologized to him, but a statement from the Head of Obi-Datti Media, Diran Onifade, refuted the claims.

The statement expressed confidence in the British authorities’ ability to resolve the matter and dismissed any political motives behind the identity theft.

Onifade confirmed that neither the British Government nor any of its agencies had issued any apology to Obi, who had since moved on and remained focused on the legal processes before the Election Petition Tribunal in pursuit of the recovery of their mandate.

The Labour Party and the Peter Obi Campaign Council remain convinced that the voters’ overwhelming expression in the February 25th presidential election was in their favor.
