Piramen Ventures Limited and Emotan Global Venture Limited have leveled allegations against the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) for unlawfully demolishing their warehouse located in Zauda, Abuja. The General Manager of Piramen Ventures Limited, Haruna Musa, disclosed to reporters in Abuja yesterday that the land was acquired through legitimate means.
Musa disclosed that six months earlier, the FCDA had demolished the warehouse’s fence and security post, prompting the proprietor to seek legal redress. He expressed his surprise that the FCT authorities had proceeded with the demolition before the court’s decision.
Musa lamented the destruction of valuable goods worth billions of naira and demanded a public apology and full compensation from the FCDA for the distress caused to the company.
Musa added that the FCDA had confirmed the land’s authenticity before it was purchased by their managing director, who had sent a letter to the FCDA requesting confirmation of the land’s validity. Unfortunately, the FCDA did not respond to their inquiry until yesterday, when the demolition was carried out without prior notice.
According to Musa, the FCDA arrived with 16 Hilux vans filled with security personnel, sent away their security personnel, and demolished everything in the warehouse, including expensive materials. The warehouse held two mining companies that produced and stored their products there.
In summary, the FCDA has been accused of unlawfully demolishing the warehouse belonging to Piramen Ventures Limited and Emotan Global Venture Limited, and they have demanded full compensation and a public apology from the FCDA for the damage done to their property.
