Former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, and his wife, Beatrice Ekweremadu, were recently sentenced to a total of nine years and eight months and four years and six months imprisonment, respectively, by a court in the United Kingdom for their alleged involvement in a plot to harvest a man’s kidney.
The victim of the alleged organ harvesting, David Nwamini, has now revealed his next steps following the sentencing of the Ekweremadus.
Nwamini, a 21-year-old trader, was allegedly trafficked from Nigeria to the UK to donate a kidney to Sonia, the daughter of a Nigerian senator. Nwamini expressed his disappointment with Dr. Obina Obeta, who he claimed did not inform him of the reason for his trip to the UK.
Nwamini stated that he would not have agreed to the organ donation if he had known the truth. He expressed concern for his safety in Nigeria and fears being arrested or killed.
Nwamini revealed that his next plan is to focus on his education, work, and football. He wants to move on from the traumatic experience and build a better future for himself.
