The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, has responded to criticisms regarding alleged demolitions of roads and businesses during his tenure as Anambra State Governor. Obi clarified that his actions were strategic, prioritizing infrastructure repair and maintenance over disruptive projects. He challenged critics to provide evidence of demolitions and refuted allegations of incitement against President Bola Tinubu’s government, dismissing them as attempts to tarnish his image.
Obi has been very critical of on-going demolition of structures by the Tinubu government to pave way for the Lagos – Calabar Coastal Highway.
