Police Demand N6 Million, Threaten to Kill Us If Unpaid – Extortion Victim Alleges in Video Report

Isaac Kelechi, a victim of police extortion, has made some disclosures regarding the incident.

According to reports, Kelechi was on his way to Imo State alongside his friends before arriving at a checkpoint where police officers extorted them in Bayelsa State.

However, in a video posted by TVC News, the victim narrated how he was beaten by the policemen for refusing to hand over his phone.

He later succumbed to the beatings and turned in his mobile device, which enabled the officers to discover a sum of ten million naira in his account. 

Isaac Kelechi also proceeded to recount how the police officers, upon discovering this huge amount of money, demanded a sum of six million naira and threatened to kill him and his friends.

According to the video, “They were beating me in the car, saying I must give them six million out of the ten million; if not, they will kill us.”.
