Edo Governor Assures Tinubu of Maximum Votes in Next Elections

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to the welfare of Edo residents, pledging the state’s unwavering support ahead of the 2027 presidential election. The governor expressed his gratitude during a food distribution event organized by the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) under the Social Investment Programme.

Fred Itua, Chief Press Secretary to the governor, revealed in a statement that the outreach took place at the New Festival Hall, Government House, Benin City. Governor Okpebholo assured that Edo State would deliver full support and maximum votes for President Tinubu in the next presidential polls. “The people of Edo State are deeply grateful for this generous gesture of food distribution to the vulnerable,” the governor remarked. “We are witnessing a new dawn of progress, and this initiative by the president and First Lady has brought immense relief to many.”

The RHI food outreach, which began on March 8, 2024, has extended its reach to seven states, including Edo, Kano, Benue, Nasarawa, Ekiti, Cross River, and Gombe. Itua highlighted the programme’s efforts to empower women and youths for a better future.

First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, represented by Hajia Nana Shettima, wife of the Vice President, urged recipients to utilize the food items wisely rather than selling them. Distributed items included noodles, semovita, and pasta. Dignitaries present at the event included the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Ikhilor; Deputy Chief of Staff, Pius Alile; and leaders of market women, among others.
