Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has rewarded Kayode Adewale, a mathematics teacher shortlisted for the $1 million Global Teacher Prize, with N5 million and a bungalow.
Adewale, who teaches at Imagbon/Imaka Comprehensive High School, earned a spot among the top 50 finalists for the prestigious award.
Governor Abiodun praised Adewale’s dedication to education, highlighting his innovative approach of using technology to teach mathematics in the local language.
“As the education capital of Nigeria, Ogun State is proud to celebrate Kayode Adewale,” the governor said, naming him Ogun State Education Ambassador.
The bungalow will be located in any part of Ogun State chosen by Adewale, adding to his cash prize.
This recognition follows Adewale’s 2020 win as Ogun State’s Best Teacher.
