Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have arrested a notorious kidnap kingpin responsible for a string of high-profile abductions in Abuja and surrounding states.
According to police sources, the suspect was apprehended on Monday, June 17, following a coordinated intelligence-led operation.
The arrest marks a major breakthrough in the ongoing crackdown on violent crime in the region. One source described the suspect as a “ruthless and dangerous criminal” linked to several chilling cases, including the abduction and eventual murder of a clergyman, the kidnapping of a woman for whom a N10 million ransom was paid, and the killing of a father during the abduction of his three children.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing, and more arrests may follow as part of efforts to dismantle the suspect’s kidnapping network.
