Comfort 95.1 FM, Uyo, has dismissed social media reports questioning its corporate reputation, insisting that the station remains editorially independent and free from political interference nine years after its establishment.

The station’s Executive Managing Consultant, Samuel Enoh Akpan, said in a statement issued in Uyo on Wednesday that the station has consistently met its statutory obligations to staff and stakeholders.

“We hereby state categorically that as a corporate organisation, we have lived up to our responsibilities towards our staff and stakeholders, paying all statutory dues that we are meant to at the appropriate time,” Akpan said.

He said the station’s day-to-day administration was solely run by his office, with support from heads of department, and was not influenced by the Chairman of its Board of Directors, Senator Effiong Bob.

“It is on record that the Chairman of the Board of Directors is Distinguished Senator Effiong Bob. He, however, does not get involved in the day-to-day administration of the station as it is being insinuated in certain quarters,” Akpan stated.

The management appealed to individuals and corporate organisations to stop linking the station to local or national political disputes, stressing that it was not established for political partisanship.

Akpan noted that Comfort 95.1 FM remains the only Nigerian radio station to have won a Guinness World Record, achieved in 2025 through presenter George Iniabasi Essien, popularly known as Mighty George, alongside other unspecified industry awards recorded over nine years.

He added that the station’s editorial and managerial policies were guided strictly by facts, fairness, justice and equity, with priority given to issues affecting Akwa Ibom State, families, businesses and civic life.

“Our editorial and managerial policies are completely independent and cannot be faulted,” he said.
