President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has constituted the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general election, naming former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, as Director-General, and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as Secretary.

President Tinubu will chair the council, with Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, both serving as Vice-Chairmen. APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, and Hadiza Bala-Usman were also named deputy and assistant secretaries respectively.

A major highlight of the council’s constitution is the return of Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, appointed Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring. Faleke will oversee zonal directors including Senator Olushola Adeyeye for the South-West, Dr Ngozi Olejeme for the South-South, Senator Uche Ekwunife for the South-East, Muntaqha Rabe for the North-West, Ahmed Muhammed Ketso for the North-Central and Senator Sani Danladi for the North-East.

Other leading appointees include former National Chairman of the APC, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, as deputy director-general in charge of mobilisation, while the President’s Chief of Staff, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, was named deputy director-general for administration. Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni were appointed deputy directors-general for the southern and northern zones, working alongside Senators Opeyemi Bamidele and Jibril Barau.

The council will also be supported by a team of senior advisers comprising Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Segun Osoba, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Florence Ita Giwa.

On the legal side, the legal directorate will be headed by Muiz Adeyemi Banire, with Liman Hassan and Babatunde Ogala as deputies, alongside members Prince Lateef Fagbemi, former Katsina State Governor Ibrahim Shema, Worgu Boms and Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh.

Charging members of the council, President Tinubu urged them to work tirelessly to secure victory for the APC in the January 2027 election. He called on the campaign team to confidently showcase the administration’s achievements, inspire hope among Nigerians and mobilise support for the party.

“We have many achievements to trumpet, let us confidently showcase our record and inspire hope in every corner of our nation,” Tinubu said.

The President also urged campaign leaders to reach out to APC members who were not formally included in the council, stressing that their contributions remain important to the party’s success.

The constitution of the council marks the formal commencement of the APC’s organisational machinery for the 2027 presidential campaign.
