The has uncovered a concealed warehouse packed with banned, counterfeit and unregistered cosmetic products valued at more than ₦3 billion in Lagos.

The discovery was made during routine enforcement operations at the APT Trade Fair Complex in , where the facility was found hidden inside an unfinished building, according to the agency.

In a statement shared on its official X handle on Sunday, NAFDAC described the operation as one of its largest seizures in recent times. Officials said the warehouse contained large volumes of prohibited skin-lightening products and medicated soaps known to pose serious health risks.

Among the items recovered were 728 cartons of Crusader soap, 718 cartons of E45 soap, as well as Extract Gold whitening soaps, all of which are banned by the Federal Government.

NAFDAC also seized assorted perfumes, body oils and cooking oils, which have been placed on hold pending further regulatory assessment. All items have since been evacuated from the premises to prevent them from entering the market.

The warehouse manager has been summoned for questioning as investigations continue. The agency warned that the sale and use of such products threaten public health and urged Nigerians to report suspicious activities to the nearest NAFDAC office.
