Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has called on Nigerians to re-elect President Bola Tinubu in 2027, describing him as a leader with sincerity of purpose who is taking difficult decisions to rescue the country’s economy.
Yusuf said the Tinubu administration’s economic policies had helped stabilise Nigeria’s macroeconomic environment, expressing optimism that the gains would soon translate into better living conditions for citizens.
The governor, who was represented by his Special Adviser on National and International Relations, Mohammed Jamu, spoke on Wednesday during the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential, Gubernatorial, Senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly Campaign Council for Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State.
He urged party members to rally behind Tinubu, insisting that the president remained the best candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
“When it comes to the day of the election, we must all remember that we have the best product as our presidential candidate, and that is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.
Yusuf added, “A lot of people do not know the sincerity of purpose that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu carries. When you look at the economic policies of his government, he has been able to rescue the economy of this country and stabilise the macroeconomy.”
He called on APC members to sustain reconciliation efforts, maintain unity and work collectively towards securing victory for all the party’s candidates in the forthcoming elections.
The governor also described the APC Kano Central senatorial candidate, Ibrahim Shekarau, as a man of humility and sincerity, highlighting his experience as a former governor of Kano State and senator.
Earlier, the APC House of Representatives candidate for Tarauni Federal Constituency, Nasir Ja’oji, disclosed that he had distributed N125 million in cash grants to 2,500 beneficiaries and 100 motorcycles across the constituency’s 10 wards.
Ja’oji also highlighted his interventions in education, healthcare, youth development and infrastructure, promising to prioritise these sectors, alongside economic empowerment, if elected.
In his remarks, Shekarau urged members of the campaign council to intensify grassroots mobilisation by taking the party’s message to communities across the local government area.
He also charged them to educate voters on the APC logo and other party symbols ahead of the elections.
Meanwhile, Sadiq Shugaba was inaugurated as Director-General of the Tarauni APC Campaign Council.
