President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his condolences to former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, following the death of his mother, Hajiya Umma.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the late matriarch as a woman of strong character whose legacy is evident in the achievements of her children and grandchildren.
Hajiya Umma reportedly passed away in Cairo after a period of illness.
In a personal message to El-Rufai, Tinubu expressed deep sympathy, acknowledging the profound grief that comes with losing a mother. He noted that while words may not fully ease the pain, cherished memories of her life, values, and guidance should provide comfort in the days ahead.
The President also urged the former governor to draw strength from the enduring impact of his mother’s life and the principles she instilled in her family.
Tinubu joined family members, friends, and associates in mourning the deceased, praying that Almighty Allah grants her Aljannah Firdaus.
