It is with a heavy heart and a profound sense of loss that I mourn the passing of an exceptional leader, a distinguished patriot, and a committed party stalwart, Prince Dr. Aderemi Charles Akitoye, who departed this life on March 17, 2026.
Prince Dr. Akitoye was not just a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); he was a pillar of strength, a guiding light, and a symbol of unwavering dedication to the ideals of democracy, justice, and good governance. His contributions to the growth and stability of our great party remain indelible, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations of political actors and nation-builders.
A man of remarkable intellect and rare humility, Dr. Akitoye carried himself with grace and dignity in both public service and private life. His commitment to the progress of Nigeria was evident in his tireless efforts to promote unity, foster development, and uphold the values that bind us as a people. He was a bridge-builder, a voice of reason, and a dependable ally in times of both triumph and challenge.
Beyond politics, Prince Dr. Akitoye was a compassionate leader who touched countless lives through his generosity, mentorship, and steadfast support for those around him. His counsel was always wise, his approach measured, and his passion for service unmatched.
His passing is not only a loss to the Peoples Democratic Party but to Nigeria as a whole. We have lost a statesman of great repute, a loyal party icon, and a distinguished son of the soil whose impact will be felt for many years to come.
On behalf of myself and all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him, I extend my deepest condolences to his family, friends, political associates, and the entire PDP family. May the Almighty grant them the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss, and may the soul of Prince Dr. Aderemi Charles Akitoye rest in perfect peace.
Though he is gone, his legacy of service, integrity, and dedication will forever remain etched in our hearts.
Adieu, Prince Dr. Aderemi Charles Akitoye – a true statesman and a shining light of our time.
